SONNENKRAFT & SMARTFOX: The Austrian powerhouse duo for maximum solar energy
The strategic partnership between the two Austrian companies, SONNENKRAFT and SMARTFOX, aims not only to work together toward a sustainable future—but also to offer their customers the best of both worlds in a comprehensive package: from “Made in Austria” PV modules to inverters, battery storage, and sophisticated energy management solutions. This secures the energy future for consumers and the environment!
Two Austrian Power Brands on the Path to the Future of Energy
The renowned Austrian companies SONNENKRAFT and SMARTFOX are joining forces as part of their strategic partnership to offer their customers the most advanced and efficient solutions for harnessing solar energy. This partnership promises not only the optimization of photovoltaic systems but also the integration of electricity, heat, and water for comprehensive sector coupling—all manufacturer-independent and cost-effective.
“Our partnership brings together the best of both worlds,” says Peter Prasser, CEO of SONNENKRAFT, with conviction. “We bring our many years of expertise in solar technology to the table, while SMARTFOX supports us with its sophisticated energy management solutions to further increase the efficiency and profitability of our solar systems. Together, we are stronger and can offer our customers tailor-made ‘Made in Austria’ solutions that are precisely tailored to their needs.”
Dynamic Load Management: Full Capacity Despite Legislative Changes
Legislative changes that have already taken effect or are pending are intended to ensure that the grid infrastructure is not overloaded or even overwhelmed—whether due to excessive consumption or too much electricity fed into the grid from PV systems. To this end, the grid operator can control and throttle electricity consumers such as heat pumps or wallboxes—which may mean that less electricity is available, for example, for charging a car. SMARTFOX has the solution: The energy manager first uses the surplus electricity from its own production to run devices at full power—such as charging an electric car, heating the boiler, or filling the battery storage—so that expensive electricity does not have to be purchased later on. This electricity was previously produced by the user’s own system but was not allowed to be fed into the grid.
These legislative changes have already taken effect in Germany, and similar changes—including active power requirements—are expected shortly in Switzerland and Austria or have already taken effect. In any case, the SMARTFOX Pro 3 smart energy manager is fully equipped to handle these changes.
Smart energy management gets the most out of every solar power system
Thanks to the collaboration between SONNENKRAFT and SMARTFOX, it is now easier than ever for customers to harness the full potential of sector coupling. Storing excess electricity from the photovoltaic system in the SONNENKRAFT battery storage unit, using the SONNENBOOSTER to heat the SONNENTANK hot water tank, or charging an electric car is no longer a problem. Variable electricity prices can also be optimally utilized with the system. The yields are displayed on the SMARTFOX Energy Manager’s user-friendly interface—so the customer always knows how much surplus electricity they are currently producing and where the electricity is going—preferably, of course, toward their own consumption.
“Our partnership with SONNENKRAFT opens up new opportunities for us to apply our technologies in a broader context and to advance the integration of renewable energy. We look forward to shaping the future of solar energy together with SONNENKRAFT,” explains Matthias Fischbacher, one of the two managing directors of SMARTFOX.
