The “in-house” wallbox, the SMARTFOX Pro Charger 2, combines functionality with ease of use. The charging station is easy to install and set up. Charge your electric car reliably and safely. SMARTFOX is the ideal solution for private households as well as small and medium-sized businesses in semi-public settings.
The charging station is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and its modern, timeless design allows it to blend seamlessly into your private property (carport, garage, parking lot) or commercial space (customer parking lot, underground garage, etc.). The Pro Charger 2 functions as a conventional charger (stand-alone) or, when combined with the SMARTFOX Pro Energy Manager, can utilize the surplus energy from your PV system. With the Energy Manager, you gain access to additional attractive features such as continuous surplus charging, dynamic load management, automatic 1-phase/3-phase switching, a weekly timer, free monitoring, and much more.
Optimal loading results
When used in combination with the SMARTFOX Pro Charger 2, the SMARTFOX Pro Energy Manager automatically selects the optimal operating point. This allows charging using surplus energy alone, even when the PV system’s energy output is low—such as during inclement weather. When power output is low, single-phase charging can begin at just 1.4 kW. If surplus energy increases, SMARTFOX automatically switches to three-phase charging and can now scale up continuously to 11 kW.
What are the advantages of an 11kW wallbox? Since few private households have a higher connection capacity, approximately 90% of all charging stations must be throttled down to 22kW on-site because the grid cannot provide the full charging power. Additionally, the most common new electric cars are equipped with an 11kW charger. Depending on local regulations, there may be a reporting requirement if a charging station exceeds 11kW.

Powering an electric car with your own solar energy makes perfect sense. Given the steadily declining feed-in tariff—the payment you receive for feeding excess solar energy into the public grid—it makes the most sense to consume as much of the electricity you generate yourself as possible.
Our sample calculations clearly illustrate this: A compact electric car consumes approximately 2,000 kWh per year (based on an annual mileage of approximately 10,000 km). Grid electricity currently costs an average of 0.30 cents/kWh, while low-cost PV electricity costs only about 0.10 cents/kWh (calculated using a 10 kWp PV system)—this reduces the cost of driving to one-third!
