DAfi GmbH is committed to making its websites accessible in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG), as currently in force, which implements Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of October 26, 2016, on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.

Status of compliance with the requirements

Due to the following non-conformities and exceptions, this website is partially compliant with Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and the applicable European standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (2018-08).

Content that is not accessible

Despite our best efforts, certain content on our website is not currently fully accessible.

(a) Non-compliance with accessibility requirements
  • Inline styling in the CMS: In some cases, content—such as tables or buttons—is styled directly using HTML or inline CSS. This may violate Success Criterion 1.3.1 (Information and Relationships). Where possible, we replace this styling with clean CSS rules.
  • Contrast ratios: Some text elements (such as footer links, icons, or call-to-action buttons) do not consistently meet the required minimum contrast ratio (WCAG 1.4.3). A high-contrast mode is not currently available, but is under consideration.
  • PDF documents: Some technical documents, such as data sheets or system descriptions in PDF format, are not accessible (e.g., missing tags, no logical reading order). Upon request, we can provide accessible alternatives.
  • Images & Alternative Text: Some images—particularly graphics, icons, and product images—do not have meaningful alternative text or are used solely for decorative purposes (WCAG 1.1.1). We are continuously working to address this.
  • Heading structure: The structure of individual pages does not consistently follow the hierarchical HTML structure (e.g., H4 without H3). This makes it difficult for assistive technologies to navigate the site (WCAG 1.3.1).
  • Focus indication during keyboard navigation: Some interactive elements, such as buttons or menu items, do not have a clearly visible focus indicator. This makes it difficult to navigate using the keyboard (WCAG 2.4.7).
  • Videos: Currently published videos do not include captions or audio descriptions. Future media content will be made more accessible (WCAG 1.2.2 and 1.2.5).

 

(b) Disproportionate burden
  • The accessibility redesign of all older PDF documents, technical data sheets, and videos with audio description currently constitutes a disproportionate burden (Section 5 of the Accessibility Act). For new publications, however, accessibility is ensured to the greatest extent possible.
  • Existing third-party tools (such as configurators and maps) cannot currently be made fully accessible, as their source code is beyond our control.

 

(c) Content outside the scope of application

In accordance with Section 2(3) of the Web Accessibility Act (WZG), certain content—such as embedded maps or external tools (e.g., weather data, third-party subsidy calculators)—is not fully accessible. However, we take care to ensure the greatest possible accessibility when selecting these services.

This statement was prepared on June 26, 2025.

The website's accessibility was assessed through a self-assessment and the use of automated testing tools (e.g., WAVE, axe, Lighthouse). We review the content regularly and make ongoing improvements.

How to file a complaint regarding lack of accessibility

If you do not receive a satisfactory response through the contact options listed above, you may file a complaint with the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG).
